1) I will only serve for one term as an MEP.
2) If elected as an MEP, I will not sit on committees of the European Parliament nor attend the plenaries in Brussels and Strasbourg except in the case of a vote which the party leadership regards as of critical importance to British interests. Instead, I will spend my time campaigning in the UK for British withdrawal from the EU and in support of the Party’s domestic election campaigns.
3) If elected as an MEP, I will register as such, and make an initial visit to Brussels for this purpose, I will claim my basic salary as an MEP, of which a minimum of 10% will be donated to the United party. I will claim personal expenses only for visits to Brussels and Strasbourg which have been approved by the Party leadership, and these will be declared to the leadership and published on the party’s website to ensure full transparency.
4) I will not join any political group in the European Parliament.
5) I acknowledge my right to employ staff from the allowances I am due as an MEP, but I will not employ members of my family.
6) I will publish full and complete accounts every year, making clear from which budget any allowances and expenses have been drawn and for what purpose. I will only make use of any allowances (including the “4000” budget) with the approval of the Party leadership.
7) While serving as an MEP, I will not be the Party Leader, Deputy Leader or Chairman, nor act as head of any regional or county committee. If I choose to stand as party leader, deputy leader or chairman and am elected by the membership to this position, I will resign as an MEP on taking up that appointment.
8) I will publish my engagement diary on-line.
9) To my knowledge, there is no scandal attached to me which could bring the party into disrepute and no legal action pending against me If as a sitting MEP my personal life is compromised by any serious scandal that will bring the party into disrepute, I will stand down forthwith if requested to do so by the party leadership.
